Axel loves the beach, but he's used to the beach at sunset. This beach has full-on hardcore sunlight going on, and he's pretty sure he could hear his skin sizzling as soon as he stepped off the ship. Quickly ducking back inside and requesting shades, a very large straw hat, and some SPF 900 from the replicator (rats, it only went up to 150?), he then dared to venture out into the sun once more, feeling a little less like shrimp on the proverbial barbie. He wasn't going to let some jerkface star prevent him from having a good time! This was the real first vacation he'd had in the better part of a decade, and he wasn't about to waste it.

As he minces along the hot sand to try and find a shady spot to sit and listen to the waves, he sees someone nearby. Dark hair, tanned skin... unusual forehead. Ah, it's that engineer lady from Illyria. She has a reputation for having a bit of a temper, but rarely does Axel pass up an opportunity to chat with a captive audience with useful skills. Being chummy with someone who knows how to work a spaceship might just come in handy, after all.

He makes his way toward her carefully, making sure not to kick up any sand, then pauses about a meter away.

"This seat taken?" he asks benignly, well aware he probably looks like a ninny wearing that hat, but it's better than being extra crispy in ten seconds flat.
