B'Elanna had been smart enough to bring a few things to the beach with her. Namely an umbrella, some towels, sunscreen, etc. She was actually lounging on a towel beneath the umbrella when Axel came up. A PADD in her hand, reading something.

As a new shadow appears, and a voice to accompany it, B'Elanna looks up. She gives him a once over. Not having yet met this particular fellow, but she's seen him around. It's impossible to miss that hair after all.

Sitting up, she sets the PADD aside.

"It is now," she replies, gesturing for him to sit and moving aside to share some of the shade of her umbrella.
