Mk 1 : Intra-ship - video
So. Who the hell do I talk to around here about getting a job in the...uh. Engineering section.
Because they wear spiffy yellow shirts. Which is kind of my color. Mostly. I usually prefer some red splashed in there, but I'll forego the highlights if I can get the job.
Bee-Tee-Dubs, yes I blew out the lights on Deck 4 two days ago. No, it wasn't my fault, I swear. Hot Forehead Chick distracted me. And also she had some weird taser thing, I'm still not 100% convinced she didn't blow out the deck just to prove me wrong.

[voice, to the entire ship.]
While I do not know about the local hiring procedures, I do doubt that blowing out all the lights on an entire deck is exactly a stellar introduction to them.

As for my intro...I am fine with 'less than stellar' just so long as it's recognized that I'm good at what I do. I've spent forty-eight hours getting my specs up to snuff, I think I've got the hang of it now.
[still voice, but with the Universal Translator off.]
...did you use any of that time for sleep perchance? Forty-eight hours is not very long at all, especially for familiarizing yourself with a ship and it's systems.
Who needs a universal translator?
And I got sleep. Really.
[He totally didn't.]
Well someone who doesn't speak english very well.
If you say so. You are certain in your abilities, so I suppose I can say little to dissuade you.

I dunno who to contact, but I don't think the deck is completely gone. Saw a couple people moving about not long ago and fixing things.
Have you been able to access many records of the ship? I think plenty of items have been encrypted or deleted for us. Just a hunch.
I love a sassy computer, I think I'll call her Natasha.

I found first hand where I wasn't suppose to be. I don't sleep much, so kept up my explorations going until I was kicked out of -- well -- everything, really. Didn't get a proper look at the engines, as they ran me off pretty quickly.
no subject
Because I really, really, really wanna get started on the engines.

[There were far to many things the Doctor wanted to get a hand on, actually. Really, it was unfair.]
I'm the Doctor. I see you must be a fellow engineer at heart.

So YOU'RE the one responsible for the lovely blackout whilst I was bang slap in the middle of showering the other day; bloody well near slipped and broke my neck.
Well done.
[A beat.]
Oh, and as for trying out for a job in...engineering, was it? Perhaps you'd better rethink that. [Smirk.]
Hey, everything was going fine until HFC threw off my mojo.
no subject
Very funny. And 'mojo'...what kind are we talking about? The kind of 'mojo' that leads an absolute novice on this ship to be tinkering about with things you've no business tinkering? --Oh, no. Sorry. I think that's called 'hubris'.
[A slow, amused smirk.]
no subject
PS: Not a novice. Not even close.
no subject
PPS: I would think ALL of us are. Novices, that is. Unless, you consider yourself amongst the original crew. And if that's the case, where's your uniform?
[Kinda reminds me of Mara a little bit, really.]
It's good we have a few around here who know something about the electrical stuff. I mean, I inherited a knack from my dad, and I know a few things, but I'm no expert. Hopefully you know a lot more.
no subject
Inheriting knacks from fathers? You don't say. Gee, that sounds so unfamiliar, I want to puke.
no subject
Don't worry, I'm kind of used to that sort of thing. You ought to be around my wife when she's angry. Or my brother-in-law. I'm not too phased by abrasive anymore.
Sounds like it's common where you come from. But then, I guess it would be in quite a few places since we all get stuff from our parents.

[It's fine, Tony. Some nice Starfleet people came and fixed the snow.]

Because she's messed up my mojo.
